Our Approach
We use human-centered design to understand the lived experiences of patients, caregivers and providers, then co-create solutions that respond to the patterns in their strengths, needs and desires.
Research
We began by learning directly from those with firsthand experience—patients with a diagnosis of ovarian or endometrial cancer, and the providers, family members and friends who care for them. We used semi-structured interviews to come alongside participants, uncovering and empathizing with their physical and emotional needs, joys and struggles.
Ideation
We summarized insights from the research and conducted multiple rounds of ideation, feedback and refinement. We sought to develop communication tools that would educate and empower patients and caregivers, while easing challenges for providers and administrators. End user feedback informed every decision—from graphics to language to format.
Tools
Our final set of communication tools, plus the corresponding continuing medical education modules, have been vetted by the people most likely to use them—patients, caregivers and providers. We will continue to validate and improve upon them in the future.
